Steelpan became the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago
On this day – 30th August 1992, the steelpan became the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago. The steelpan (or pan for short) is a musical instrument indigenous to Trinidad and Tobago and is the only acoustic musical instrument to be invented in the 20th century.
